Lancaster Laboratories has an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Scientist to join our growing Biopharmaceutical Services Department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: develop, validate, and execute qPCR based assays as well as other molecular and biochemical tests; perform work in a team environment to establish a wide range of new service offerings in our cell and molecular biology test areas as well as perform a wide range of assays to support current client projects. All work is performed in a GMP environment.

The position would involve client contact as well as the ability to lead client specific and internal projects to a successful conclusion. The position provides excellent opportunities for growth and development in a growing and expanding department within a stable successful company. The position also offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of assays and biopharmaceutical compounds.

BS/BA/MS/Phd in molecular biology, biology, or other related science degree preferred.

Previous industry experience desired.

Principal Scientist - Pharmacometrics

Responsibilities:

The department of Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamic Sciences at Genentech, Inc. is seeking a Principal or Senior Ph.D. level Scientist who is driven to apply modeling and simulation methods for quantitative understanding of the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of novel drug candidates. The focus of this position is the assessment, understanding and control of PK/PD variability of drugs in non-clinical and clinical development using mechanistic PK/PD and population (POP) PK modeling approaches. This person will contribute to modeling and simulation during all stages of drug development including molecule selection, non-clinical dose and regimen selection, first in man studies, Phase II dose/regimen selection and strategic and tactical decision making for the large Phase III clinical studies. This person will work in close partnership with other PK scientists within the department and collaborate with scientists in the Research and Medical Affairs Departments. Responsibilities will include planning and conducting analysis and preparing sections for regulatory filings and presentation of data at cross-functional teams, department meetings, conferences and regulatory meetings. This person will manage and provide coaching and technical modeling expertise to other scientists in the department.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. or equivalent in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline with at least 10 years of industry and/or academic experience in PK/PD and/or POP PK modeling experience is required. The candidate must have a proven ability to apply highly advanced modeling strategies to Drug Development in a creative and resourceful manner. Full proficiency in state-of-the-art methodology and technology in biostatistics, PK/PD modeling and computer programming (Fortran, S-plus, SAS) is required. Proficiency and experience with standard and specialized modeling software (NONMEM, ADAPT II, WinNonlin, Gastroplus, SimCyp, etc.) and the ability to plan, organize and analyze experimental/quantitative data are essential. Experience in the preparation of regulatory applications (IND, NDA, BLA) and good knowledge of GCP and regulatory guidelines is highly desirable. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on interdepartmental project teams.
